Welcome to Slot Machine Games

Slots are possibly the most popular games to bet on at casinos. On any given night, expect most of the slot machines to be packed with enthusiastic players. They appear in a good selection of gambling levels; some just cost $.05 a spin while others can cost upwards of $20 a play. Although slot machines are a wagering tool, a lot of people are intimidated by the big money table games and are partial to the delight and exhilaration of a good slot machine game.

The first mechanical slot machine was created in 1895 and was dubbed the "Liberty Bell." Invented by a California machinist, the initial slot games had 3 reels with diamonds, hearts, spades and a cracked Liberty Bell on each. Before this invention, the phrase "slot machines" was used to describe different types of vending machines.

The first real widespread use of slot games in American casinos is credited to the Flamingo Hotel, Vegas in and around the 40’s. The owner of the brick and mortar casino had initially thought the machines would be amazing to entertain tired wives of some of the largest whales of the betting house. Little did he know that the slots would be an enjoyable game for nearly everyone and that the appeal would go further than the tired wives. Now, it is said, slot machine games make up over 2/3rds of all money brought in by U.S. casinos.

Slot machine games beyond a doubt have a full history. From the petite creation of the late-19th century to the billion dollar industry of today, slots will continue to expand in universal appeal.
